Danny B Tull (born February 27th 1977) is a director and film editor.
He was born in Bournemouth, England, and attained a degree in music technology at Rose Bruford College, London.
He started editing video in London, working on music video’s, documentaries, television , commercial and non-commercial, with directors such as Jonas Akerlund, Chris Cunningham, Johan Renck and editing music videos for artists such as Madonna, Jamiroquai, Justin Timberlake and Moby.
In 2007 he edited the film “Ragtale” which won Best Editor at Jackson Hole film festival and in 2008 he edited “Intervention” which won the best feature at San Diego.
His work on Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi music video with Jonas Akerlund was nominated for best video at the 2009 MTV music awards. Also in 2009 he worked with Chris Cunningham on a Gucci commercial that was awarded a Golden Lion at Cannes. And in 2012 his commercial work on Perrier’s “The Drop”, with Johan Renck earned the nomination for a Cannes Lion award.
Tull has also worked with photographer / directors such as Steven Klein, Tom Munro, Mert and Marcus, Terry Richardson and Clive Arrowsmith. In 2012 he worked with Tom Munro to edit, and also co-wrote the soundtrack for a short film with Rihanna and Elle magazine.
In 2006 he worked with Madonna and Ackerlund, editing the Confessions Tour video, which won a Grammy for best longform music video. Since then he has continued to work with Madonna on a number of different projects, including music video’s, documentaries and film.
In 2007 he edited the Madonna documentary “I Am Because We Are” which won the VH1 best documtentary award, and in 2011 he edited WE, which was produced and directed by Madonna (The Weinstein Company). The film was nominated for Oscar for Best Costume and won a Golden Glober for best song.
He has also created and edited some of the back screen projections for Madonna’s Sticky and Sweet and MDNA live tours.
In 2012 Tull directed and edited the Madonna Live From Olympia show which was broadcast live with “Lovelive TV” on youtube.
Also in 2012 / 2013 he directed and edited Madonna’s MDNA world tour live show. This tour was dubbed as the highest grossing tour of 2012 by Billboard, and became the tenth highest grossing tour of all time.
